Unemployment insurance is a program that all employers pay into, in order to provide unemployment insurance benefits to displaced workers when they lose their jobs.
These temporary unemployment insurance benefits include:
1. Weekly unemployment check.
2. Job-hunting preparation.
3. Job retraining – if you qualify.
4. Access to computers and fax machines to help you in your job search.
5. Access to an unemployment counselor to help you find a job and other resources and services that you might need.
Unemployment insurance is meant to provide temporary help to people who have lost their jobs until they are able to find a new job. While finding a new job is the goal, and it is taking people longer and longer to find a job these days, unemployment insurance eventually runs out — it is not an unlimited benefit.
