I have been waiting weeks for a hold on my account to be released. A nice gentleman from the Danville office sent a e-mail on my behalf and helped by submitting for all my backpay checks. It came time to call in my regular check on the 16th or something like like and i was still unable to so a lady at the Lexington office helped me and submitted yet another e-mail to release the hold. Here I am again filing for a check today and was unable to. So the danville office put in yet another paper request. I think this is 5 checks that is sitting there waiting for the hold to be released. PLEASE HELP…I AM BEGGING OF YOU!!!

I lost my job September 10 as a result of outsourcing. I have been requesting my benefit checks every 2 weeks as I should, but I still have not received a dime of my benefits. Every time I contact customer service or my local office they tell me my claim is “under investigation” and that it should be released “any day now”. This has been 9 weeks now. I really need my money as I am a single mom of a 6 year old and I am tired of letting him down because I barely have enough money left to even feed him or keep a roof over our heads. Can anyone offer any tips on how I can get this money released as soon as possible? I have sent an email to John Yarmuth (who it said was my local representative) and been in contact with my local office several times and it doesn’t seem that I’m getting anywhere. Please help!!!

Please call again later”.When I called back the message was that I had already filed my claim. So my question is is my claim filed or not?

I am the HR mgr for QED, Inc. in Lexington. Due to a severe downturn in business in July 2010 we had to layoff 2 employees and reduce the hours of a number employees from fulltime to part time. 4 of the employees whose hours were reduced: Alex Orlov(403419778),Vladimir Goloborodko (404457095),Boris Kuchmistay (400554311) and Joseph Lawton (260422109) HAD THEIR Hours reduced from 40 to 24 hrs perweek last July and have continued to work part time to the present. They have been receiving partial unemployment benefits. They reached the maximum 52 weeks of paid benefits on July 2, 2011, and each applied for an extension. Their base period for the initial benefit year was QTRS 2,3,& 4 OF 2009 AND qtr 1 OF 2010. For the extension a new base period was used: QTR 2,3,4 of 2010 and QTR 1 2011. This resulted in a dramatic reduction of benefits. Why was a new base period used and why was the new base period a full year different from the initial claim? Why were they penalized. Had they been laid off instead of having their hours reduced, there would have been no reduction in their benefits on the extension, Please contact me by email or by phone 859-281-1743 or cell 859-948-3722. Thank you

I have been going through the appeal process since March. It is August and still no determination on my benefits. I have now called my weeks in 10 times now and have gone to one review…all the while not technically being on unemployment. No on seems to know anything about my claim. They just keep telling me to call back next week.

I recently had a sun stroke. I do not have health insurance so I was unable to get a doctors note for missed time from work. I have copies of emails I sent to my supervisor informing him of why I was not able to attend work, but due to the “no fault” attendance policy, I was dismissed.

A friend of mine was fired from his job simply for not going to work, no sickness, he just decided not to go to work anymore (no call no show) and filed for unemployment and has already recieved two unemployment checks, and is getting a third this week he was fired and filed for unemployment a week before me.

After filing for unemployment, and recieving a letter stating how much I would recieve in benefits, I filed for my first check. A week goes by and I did not recieve anything from them, so I called the IVR to check on the status. The IVR informed me that I was “credited for weeks claimed, but no check was issued.” I called the help desk to inquire about this issue and after waiting on hold for over an hour I was hung up on and when I called back I got the recording that their office was closed. I called back the next day and sat on hold for over two hours only to be hung up on again when the office closed.

I went to my local unemployment office today, monday 8/15/2011 and waited there for over an hour to talk to someone. It has almost four weeks since I filed for my unemployment (i’m eligible to claim another check this sunday) and I was informed that there was an investigation under way on my case and that every time there is a dismissal there is an investigation. I informed the guy I talked to about my friend only to be scoffed at and the guy insisted that investigations were always the case if there was a dismissal.

Obviously there is not an investigation every time someone is fired, my friend is proof of that, and now I’m in dire straights. If I do not receive any benifits this week, my electric and water will both be shut off. How am I supposed to find another job, with no means of having good hygene, a must in my line of work. I cannot believe that our system is so screwed up that it rewards laziness and punishes the people that actually work in this country and pay the taxes that pay for these lazy peoples unemployment. It’s unbelievable.

Im worried, ss office is still showing my maiden name under my ssn. so i had to renew my lic in my maiden name (im divorced now anyway). i rec a letter from unemployment office that i need to come by with photo id, birth certificate and ss card. Im worried bec even though they show my maiden name on all three, i worked under my married name. Do you see this as being an issue that will keep me from receiving my checks? (that i worked under my married name but my ssn, drivers lic and birth cert shows my maiden name)

Tried to request my check and said I had to file an “additional claim” again. I have like 4 checks that I did not recieve. Just wondering whats going on.

I have not received my unemployment check since the end of August 2011 due to receiving my review form late. I have called the interstate unemployment office as well as other ky offices and have left numerous messages along with faxing the form completed. It is now January and I need somebody to please contact me or let me know what I need to do to receive my benefits . It would be much help if I was given some kind of information because as a former Soldier whom is unemployed and has tried repeatedly to get some kind of answer would really help. It is very unprofessional and inconsiderate to not even receive a letter.

when my account was under investigation in october i filed two weeks that have still not been issued to me. i spoke to several people last thurs, and after going through a maze of people, automated systems that hang up on me, and searching the internet, i spoke to someone that said she would tell them to release my check. it struck me as sort of odd that it took a day of talking to various people (for the second time about this issue. i thought they had released my check weeks ago, but still to no avail) this woman could just press a magic button and i would finally get the two weeks of benefits that have been owed to me for almost 4 months now, and i now see that it was more lip service. who can i speak to that will resolve this issue for me? i cannot find a number for the interstate claims office anywhere as per instructions of the automated system. i know that i was connected to them after last phone session, but never got a number. google cannot find one either. please somebody help me ive been broke since new years and have told the people that have been helping me my check would be here today, as i know it does not take more than a week for mail to come from ky to fl. PLEASE SOMEONE LEAD ME T SOMEONE THAT WILL HELP ME AND NOT GIVE ME THE RUN AROUND OR LIE TO ME

The State of Kentucky approved my initial claim and I received benefits for five months. I got a letter recently stating that I wasn’t eligible and was overpaid and I have to pay them back. Why should I have to pay it back since the State should have found me to be ineligible when I first filed? It seems a mistake on their part

The same thing happened to me. After a year of appeals, they ruled in my favor, however they say I still am required to repay, even though it was THEIR MISTAKE. I will never claim unemployment again. I was treated like a criminal when I work hard and pay my own bills and take care of my own children. This was the first time I ever drew anything other than a paycheck. And unemployment is there because MY EMPLOYER paid it in for ME. Now they have a lien against my SS# and a hold on my benefits, although I was legitimately laid off. I should not be responsible for repaying any money when the mistake was theirs. I called more than 50 times over the course of a year to insure that I was doing it all correctly, and was given INCORRECT information repeatedly. The state of KY unemployment office is incompetent, they treat you like a criminal, in their eyes you are guilty until proven innocent and even then YOU have to pay for THEIR mistakes. I for one am fed up. I have recently acquired a new job, and my first task is hiring an attorney to defend me. As a citizen who works hard, pays taxes and accepts zero government hand outs, I have RIGHTS! And its sad that I am being punished, when there are so many drug addicts living around me, off government money, that tax payer like me paid in, so they can use it to buy their drugs, and I have to suffer and my children have had to suffer because I AM HONEST. This is not over and I dont care what it costs me, I intend to see justice in this matter.

I applied for unemployment and was accepted by the state. I have not recieved anything from my previous employer denying my claim. I recieved all my paperwork and dates to call in. I called in on March 4th for the last two weeks in February. When can I expect my check. When I call to check my status it says I have the credits, but no check was issued. What do I do?

you need to go the nearest office. there may be a mistake on the filing but going in you can get a response immediately as to what is going on with your check. did you call your check in on the 18th as well. Even if you have not received your check you still need to call your check in faithfully

I filed my claim at the beginning of May, I got approved, and called my check in on May 14th. After not receiving my check I called Frankfort to ask them where my check was. Come to find out there was an overpayment from 2008. I was instructed to go into the local office and have them put some kind of code on my account. I did this on Monday May 21st. I was told that they would take out a portion of my check to pay back the overpayment. As of today i still have no check and i just received a bill for the overpayment stating that I have 2 weeks to pay the minimum or they will put a lien on my social security number. How am I supposed to pay the minimum if I don’t have a job? Does anybody know if I’ll still get a check and then have to pay them out of what they sent me?

My employer is telling us that we are closing the first of July. Can I get unemployment for that one week? I have one week of vacation scheduled the second week in July. Am I able to get one week unemployment and still go out of town for the scheduled vacation? How long would it take to get the unemployment check if I am able to get it? Also, If I show up to work and the employer sends us home because we do not have work, do they have to pay us for that or do we have to use our own vacation time?

I am claiming unemployment insurance. I have a date that I am supposed to attend a KEN session but I have a restart date from my previous employer. I am just trying to talk to someone about this. I have called numerous phone numbers and I can not actually get to a person to talk to only automated recordings that keeping hanging up on me. I am claiming in Louisville, I would like to talk to some one from either the preston office or the west cedar office.

From all the complaints I have seen they are all the same.. I am a vet and a wounded warrior. I go to school because of my injuries cause I can’t go back doing what I was doing as a mechanic. My account has been put on hold for three months because I was going to college. Then they said I had to still look for full time work even when I am in full time college student. And then I am still on hold no check received I am about to write the governor or make a congressional complaint. Cause it sounds like they are not wanting to pay out to people that are really in need..

Digitally record conversation w/agent over phone by speaker phone or use Skype- get evidence of what they told you. Write letters and requests responses- if you send an email CC it to someone else and also to yourself so you know it went through. Request a ‘Read Receipt’ if able to on your email & flag as highly important or Urgent in subject line. When you leave a voicemail tell them that you recorded it and say the day and time along with your phone number and your name clearly- give them 10 working days to respond or 14 days period. If you do not hear from them by such and such date, let them know that you will need to report them. In Canada you get interest due to you that has accumulated on funds owed to you that were not been paid on time- if we had that in America our Gov. would be highly in debt owing people lots of money!

This is my first time ever using Unemployment, how long does it normally take to receive a determination letter in the mail or to start receiving a check? Any information helps!
