Missouri Unemployment Office

Sometimes it is difficult to get through to the MO unemployment phone number, or you have questions that the website just can't answer, so you have to go to talk to someone face to face at the MO unemployment office.

There is probably a MO unemployment office in your town or county. Most states have one in every county. Be prepared though. Many people are applying for unemployment at the same time, and your local Missouri unemployment office could be very crowded, and you might have to wait in long lines in order to see someone.

Here are some tips when going to the MO unemployment office:

1. Go early. Be there at least 1 hour before the office opens.
2. Dress appropriately. It will be very hot in the summer, and very cold in the winter. Dress appropriately for the temperature and time of year.
3. Pack a lunch. You will probably have to wait a long time in line, and will probably get hungry. Pack a lunch and bring lots of water to drink to stay hydrated.
4. Bring your medicine. If you take medications that you can't miss - make sure you bring all of the medicine that you will have to take for that day, just in case you are there all day long.
5. Bring a pen or pencil. You will need one to fill out the application and to take notes.

Hi my name is WITHHELD, I have been calling(314-340-4950) in my weekly claims, but the last 3 weeks, I have not received my weekly benefits. I need to get an extension on my unemployment claims. I've called in and used option #5, but can not get thru to a person. I've spent hours on the phone daily never able to reach a person. I called the Jefferson City office and they gave my this e-mail address and that I would receive assistance from personnel after e-mailing to this address. Please e-mail me back with instructions on processing my extension on unemployment claims. Thanks so much for your help. WITHHELD

***Here is the other email I sent out.

Thank you so much for responding.

I have tried hours in the row.( 314-340-4950 and 1800-320-2519 ) After I push any option the system will hang up on me. We are now going with 4-th week. It does tell me in the system that the weekly claim has been filed. When I try to file the previous week the system tells that that week has already filed. The option 5 is for filing an extension, but as soon as I get to that it will hung up. Still no money has gone to my my Missouri Access card. I called almost all day on Friday.
I am Local 110 Labor in Missouri and work for landscaping company. The weather has not been on our side and I have been laid off since Nov. This unemployment is really helping us to pay for our house. This is the first time I am not sure how to make our bills for month. We have used all our savings we had over this winter. Very frustrating.

I also called to Department of Labor ( 866-487-2365) Very helpful lady told me that Career Center will help with unemployment questions. She also told me I do have to make an appointment in order to talk to someone there.
They gave me One Stop Career Center address in St. Peters, Mo and the ph # 636-255-6060. So I called them on Fri trying to get the appointment for Monday. They told me they have nothing to do with unemployment.

I am 25 years old, pregnant and have a child! I have worked since I was 17, I recently resigned from my job to move out of town! The move didn't happen! I applied for unemployment in dec! It has been over six weeks and my claim is still in processing. Since I have no income and I am not eligible for very much government assistance, I am now living with someone, I have lost everything! I am due any day now, and was informed that after I have my baby I will no longer be eligible for unemployment! I don't blame anyone for what has happened, and although the benefit amount is not much, every little bit helps!!
