Missouri Unemployment If You Get Fired

Generally, in Missouri you have to have lost your job through no fault of your own in order to collect unemployment.

In most cases, this means that if you get fired, you cannot collect unemployment benefits.

If you get fired from your job, you should go ahead and apply for unemployment benefits, because there are some cases where you can be fired from your job and still get benefits.

If you feel like you were fired unfairly, or there were extenuating circumstances, be sure to tell you unemployment counselor about them. If your unemployment application is denied because you were fired, you also have the right to appeal the decision.

I was fired do to a medical problem. Is there any way to get unemployment as this is no falt of my own.

My employment was terminated becase I didn't go in on a day I was scheduled but didn't realize I was supposed to be there. I had just started working there too

I live in Missouri and have been at my current job for the past 8 years, during this time i have never had any complaints about my job performance and i have dealt with incompetant co-workers and i have recieved multiple complaints about how things are ran from our customer database, it has become a very big problem and it is affecting my job and we are losing business because of it..It is a small company with only 5 employees. My boss recently confronted me about the situation and it does not seem like there is any talking to him. I have tried all options to make my job as it should be but i feel like nothing will ever change.. I also get the impression that i may be fired over it. (I also believe that he is bringing personal issues to the workplace and mixing them with business). My question is can i quit do to the circumstances and still collect unemployment??? I truly believe i have exhausted all options and still nothing will get done...I have a family to provide for and i will not have personal issues be a deciding factor.

Last month, the sales staff here was informed that our scheduled work hours would increase from 45.5 hours per week to 49 hours per week. We all had one day off during the week and a half day (we came in at noon on another day). My schedule from when I started in 2007 has been: M 8:30am - 8pm, T noon-8pm, W 8:30-8pm, off Th, F&Sat 8:30-8pm closed Sunday.
We all basically lost our noon day. My boss understands having to watch my kids until noon Tuesday and has continued to allow me to come in at noon Tuesdays for the last several weeks. I was told today by his boss that if I can't adjust my schedule & come in Tuesday mornings "we would have to part ways".
If I get fired because of this, can I collect unemployment? I work in MO.

I was fired because I was in the hospital for kidney failure. My employer was aware that I was in the hospital. I collected unemployment benefits following my termination. I am now required to pay back the benefits I received, or my wages will be garnished. I did not qualify for FMLA protection, do I have to pay back the benefits I received?

I was fired because i refused to get the FLU SHOT, when I was hired on i was not told that if i did get the job would i have to get the flu shot! They said after 4 months of me working with them did they say I had to get it because its a new thing that they started this year. I still refused and got fired???

If I am fired because I was injured at work, and the workmans comp doctor for my company placed me on restrictive duty, but my own private doctor took me off work for 2 weeks, and my company fired me for having to take the 2 weeks off(under an approved by the company personal leave which they had me fill out and told me that way my time off would be excused and not counted against me)..Would I be eligible for unemployment benefits?

I have been with Alpine access for over 3 1/2 years and on January 2 we got news of a new team lead I knew that she did not like that the other employees came to me for the answers and one customer complained because I could not give the answer she ask which is why we did not get her payment till after the due date .. MY responce was just that we had no idea either to the reason we did not get her paymnent on time .... i really do not know what the company wanted me to say make up something or be honest... did they want me to say OH the post office or the payment center sat on your payment so you would be assest a late fee I think not but to to the differances between me and former coach now lead I was terminated ...

I have been at my present job for almost 12 years w/ no problems. Appx a year ago my employer hired a new employee & with this employee has been much drama! The work morale has become so low that 5 of our employees, including myself are looking for other jobs. (we have 12 employees) Most of us feel that we're working in a hostile enviornment. And, my boss has even made the comment to me that he guess he should put her and myself in a room, so we can "kick each other's ass". In my opinion, this is NOT very professional. If I go to my boss and tell him that I feel I'm working in a hostile enviornment and he does nothing about (except maybe fire me) do I have any legal rights?
