I am currently employed at a position in a small business, less than 15 employees, for 4 years. The business is for sale, possibly sold, lots of rumors, but nothing official. I work 20 to 40 + hours a week. I am afraid my position will disappear when the business sells, so what do I need to do to protect myself and also meet any requirements to qualify for unemployment when I am shown the door.
Thank You very much.

I have been working for my current employer for over two year now. I just found out he does not pay into unemployment. However my weekly pay check is taxed as it should be. My employer has two people that work for him. He pays more than 800 dollars a week in wages. Should he be paying unemployment?

Can I collect unemployment if I quit my job because of severe Asthma. I work in a building that houses animals and I'm severely allergic to animals. I have daily asthma attacks and my medication doesn't help. I cough until I throw up and almost pass out. I will continue to look for employment for Administrative jobs. I have worked at this location for 11 years and the asthma has become highly dangerous.

I started working for a new company in July2012 full time now they are making some cuts and mostly everyone is going part time(5-20 hours a week) and eventually a lot are going awayand we just got our insurance , now we are going to loose are insuarance... I called to see if I was eligible for part time unemployment benefits and they told me I was not elgilbile yet because I didn't have enough earnings yet, and told me to check next quarter April 8th...What if I loose my job all together...I don't get anything. I have always worked and paid in, never drew unemployment before and I don't think this is fair.I don't understand

I have been employed with a company for 9 years. On 04/01/13 this company was purchased by a larger corp and have taken all of my previous responsibilites to the corp office which is out of state. This new corp has transferred me to a different store, which is a 1 1/2 hour drive, and was told I either take this position or I haven't a place in their company....I feel they are wanting me to quit. What is my recourse if I do this. Will I be eligible for unemployment while seeking empolyment elsewhere??
