Sometimes you just have to talk to a live person to get answers to your questions. In that case, you can call the MA Unemployment Phone Number: Toll Free: 877-626-6800

Be prepared for long wait times because lots of people are trying to do the same thing that you are. Be patient and you will get through to someone that can help you. Even though it is frustrating to wait so long, please be courteous to the person you get connected to and you will get a lot more help than if you are terse and rude. The staffers on the other line are over-worked and are doing everything they can to help all of the people that are contacting them.

I've been trying for over a month-I cal at least once a day and get put on hold and then disconnected- to get through to a live person with no success. I haven't received a check in that time either and it's due to an issue with a part time job I held during the summer. I have rent and child support payments and have no money. please help.

This place is unbelievable. I've been trying to get through to them for THREE weeks. Every time I call, I either get the "due to high call volumes..." bullshit, or the phone starts to ring to put me in the hold queue, and i get disconnected. How can it take me 3+ weeks of calling on my day (Thursday) AND the makeup day (Friday) and i STILL can't get through to a live person. You people can't be that busy there.

This service doesn't work, there needs to be more reps working because no matter when you call even if you call on your scheduled day you are left on hold and it disconnects because of "high call volumes" I've been trying for a week and a half to get through to a live person with NO success. I have patience but that only gets you so far when you have bills to pay.

Hello I would love to speak with you....I have been waiting for week and still have not gotten my unemployment checks as of yet. I am the sole provider for my family and they are relying on me to bring home the bacon. I spoke with someone on the telecert line and I was told that a document has not been sent out from them as of yet and the gentlemen did not understand why it was not sent out. long story short my bills are pilling up fast and food is going the the frig, and money that was in savings is gone. I have a 11month old and a 8yr old and this is just not a good feeling to wake up every morning and look at my wife and kids and there is nothing coming in. I have been filling out job application one after another to even try to get back to work sooner...even have been on interviews and waiting on responses back for the positions that I have applied.

I was let go from my job for no reason and this is the position that I am in now this is bad....

I applyed for unemployment after my company completely closed a month ago. The state was notified and I applied proptly...and nothing. My bills are pilling up, I can't get anyone on the phone and even on days I am supposed to be able to call I can't get through.

I have been waiting 9 weeks and have received no benefits. I was told by a woman this morning that due to being backed up my case has not even been assigned yet. When I explained that I have 2 children and no more money left she told me to dial 211 for government progams.

This system is a nightmare.

Three things happen when you call:

1. You call and wait on hold forever. Never get through to an agent.

2. You call and they say there is a high volume call/ try again later, then your hear dial tone.

3. You call and they say we are in the middle of a phase out - your call will not be returned and then you hear dial tone.

So then you decide I'll just go to an unemployment office which takes an entire day even though you sign up at 9:00am - you are seen by a representative around 1:00pm.

You wait for hours to see the only representative who gives you 2 seconds of their time, has little patience and no sympathy.

You sit in a room watching the despair in everyone's eyes as they have gone through the same torture. The representatives have NO TIME FOR YOU - they advise you to call the phone line for questions!

If we cant even get through a telecert system to receive benefits, how are we expected to have money for transportation to these unemployment facilities.

I understand that MA Unemployment is in the middle of a phase out - but this phase out has lasted long enough.

Good luck to everyone else trying to get through..... It's not like we have families that rely on us or anything Gov. Patrick!

What is the minimum amount of hours one can work a week part time to still be eligible to collect for the part time job iam starting the claim for? I work as a paraprofessiona l in an elementary school there is no work from June 15th until august 28 which would be my first Day back to work. I filed but just want to make sure i am not going to be penalized for working a certain number of hours a week. I will be working a total of 29 hrs a week at a summer camp, am i still able to file?

I was on hold for one hour and fifty-one minutes then one hour and 48 minutes and still nothing. The third time I called I was told that the call volumes were too high "goodbye!" Please, I need to speak to someone about why my benefits are being denied!!!

I have spoke with numerous people and have actually gone to my local office. They gave me the number of my case worker and I have called numerous times and yet to get a call. This has gone on since August. The problem is because of a part time job I had after I got layed off which I no longer have. It cause a problem with. My unemployment I am working now and am trying to figure out where the two months of unemployment I have coming to me that stopped are at.

Have been calling non-stop for 3 hours straight (I mean no bathroom breaks, nothing) between 12 and 3:15 pm 1/18/13. All I get is "due high call volume....all agents busy....call at a later time or on another business day". This is a joke. I thought government was created for the better good and to serve the people, not give them the runaround.

I have been trying to do the same as all these people and have probably used all the minutes on my cell to do so without any success. I came to the end of my second tier of unemployment and am just calling to find out if I am done with unemployment or am eligible for any other benefits. I have been out of work now for approximately 15 months and am now having to really be "super underemployed". Like others in this forum, we are not only discouraged with not being able to find work, but have to waste hours and hours on the phone merely to be discouraged ag ain talking to a recording that keeps us busy for for hours. It's really fun for the whole family.......maybe the reason so many people are out of work now is because companies including the state of taxachussetts won't have real people answering phones like the good ol' days! Well, if you can tell me if there is a third tier of unemployment anymore I would be extremely greatful. Good luck to everyone else trying to get through..... It's not like we have families that rely on is or anything gov. Patrick!

Open my claim on Jan. 9th. Still haven't heard nothing or received nothing. I was told at first 3 to 4 weeks. Its been going on 6 weeks and still nothing. My money and I can't even get it.Tried to call can never get through.Need to set up a bettet system.

I am on my last extension, and every week that I call, I am told that my benefits are ending. I have to then try and get in touch with a rep to fix the issue. Anyone who has tried to do this, knows how impossible it is to get a live person. I am so sick of hearing "your call is important to us, please call again later". If it's so important, answer the dang call! I'm getting frustrated with the fact that I keep having to call back because the reps I speak with keep screwing up my claim!!!!

I've been helping out my fiance for a month and a half now dealing withunemploymen t we did finally get through and filed and got a check but when calling to claim for the week it said that there records show he is working!?! He deffinately isn't working and now we can't get ahold of anyone to fix it.

I have waited 3 months for my unemployment check. I was laid off but the owner is saying that I was fired. Spoke to my case worker 3weeks ago and was told that my unemployment would kick in by that Friday. Still nothing. I have tried calling unemployment and get the same as everyone else. I am sick of it. I have been out on medical leave for 4 months when I return to work and im not able to perform my old duties because of restrictions in my daily job description and my empolyer feels that my services are no longer needed will I be eligible for unemployment

I have gone through all of the above and now have to wait for a claims adjuster to determine if I should get the remaining weeks on my claim. I am already behind 3 weeks because my 13 yr old son is currently in heart failure. Due to his condition I missed some bullshit class which I already made it up but not on time according to U/E. Really? Yup I'd much rather sit in a hospital praying my son gets to come back home then go to the career center for 2 hours! I found this number 617-626-5400. It's for problems with your u/e claims no waiting spoke to a person right away. It didn't help me but maybe it will help someone else. Good luck.

This whole thing is just unbelievable and very frustrating. I spoke with a woman at the DUA office (after being on hold for an hour and a half) who had absoutely NO CLUE about what to do. These associates have not been properly trained in the "new system" they switched over to on July 1. I filed my claim back in May and have gotten NO WHERE. To answer my question she had to wait for "one of her managers"(who conveniently forgot about her) and the whole telephone conversation was based on her and I saying what a disaster this "new system" is. She stated, and I quote, "its going to take us all at least two years to learn this thing". So, in the meantime, we all get to sit and wait while nothing gets resolved and our bills pile up, then hey, maybe we can all apply for food stamps as well, because we are all starving along with being foreclosed/evicted because we cant pay our mortgage.....THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH STATE OF MASS!!!! once again, you have proved to truly be the armpit of America! Bravo!!!

While filing for unemployment ( and also distraught at the time) I mistakenly put I was discharged when actually I resigned instead of being let go. Now I have to fill out a questionnaire or my benefits will stop but the questionnaire pertains to being discharged and I want to fix that but can not do it on the website. I don't want to get in trouble it was a mistake and I'm sure when they contacted my employer they told them I resigned. Any suggestions or do you know a way I can fix this, as it is very difficult to get a live person on the phone. Thank you!

I have been still trying to get someone to answer my questionabout why I am being denied still not able to get a hold of a real person or now when I call I get disconnected or computers are down please call back been trying for 4 months and still no answers about my case .I got laid off due to lack of work and hours I was a PCA for this person for over ten years He is a disabled person and also lost good old Mass health not his fault but someone has to do something about unemployment how they handle claims and who gets to collect they give it to people they know first before they help others that are really in need of there services I payed into for many years but can not get what I am able to get can anyone help me with this matter?

after waiting an hr and 15 min. for someone to pick up, I talked to some one who did not give me their name, said there had been a glitch in the online adjudication process and that was the delay. I said, I have already spent 2 hrs on the phone with UE on the new system to get this through. Now I am told that I cant submit until after 8/3 but that skips a week of eligibility. He said hold on....the system put me on the phone tree again!!! and then it disconnected me.

I have called repeatedly starting at the end of August, I have talked to one person and they informed me that paperwork was being sent to my last employer to check the status of my previous income and that I would have to wait and call back another time. So that is what I did, the following day however I received the paperwork that was supposed to have been sent to my employer, the forms had no phone number or fax number, so I called my employer who told me that they had not received anything pertaining to my case. I faxed them the paperwork that I received and they sent it in, HOWEVER, I received the form on a friday and it was do the following monday. Thanks for allowing me less then 24 business hours to complete the needed paperwork. I have been calling everyday for the last 7 weeks and I get either hung up on, because they are too busy and the wait is to long, or they put me on hold and i will wait for over an hour and then get hung up on, or i will wait on hold and get the offer of a call back, which i tried twice and each time it says we will call back in more than 30 minutes so i wait, once it worked and they called me back, i was put on hold then HUNG UP ON AGAIN!! the other time i never got a call back. This system is NOT HELPING. I have tried calling a locate agent at the career center and they keep telling me to just keep trying. How can I get anything figured out, how can I support my children, Feed them? This government agency should not be run in such a disorganized uncaring way. People have a right to unemployment compensation!

this is nuts so I start to get my unemployment checks 3 months after I applied I get them for three weeks and now they all say overpayment this is the most bs I have ever had to deal with they stopped my unemployment because my employer said all my wages came in the first quarter jan feb march and you need atleast two quarters to receive ben. I have check stubs saying I worked jan feb march april may and june that's 6 months 2 quarters can someone help me out on what I need to do has this happened to anyone else thanks
