How to Cancel Florida Unemployment

When you find a new job you can no longer receive Florida unemployment benefits and may need to officially cancel your Florida unemployment.

In order to cancel your unemployment claim, you can:

1. Call, send a letter, or email to your unemployment counselor letting them know that you have found a new job.
2. Stop filing your weekly certification.

If you happen to receive an unemployment check while you are working, make sure to call your unemployment counselor to let them know. You may need to return the check - but this will be better than any possible penalties that you could be responsible for if you are found to be recieving unemployment benefits while working.

I was receiving unemployment and became ill and was hospitalized. I need to apply for medical financial assistance due to not having insurance at the time of admittance. I need proof that my unemployment has been terminated. I thought not qualifying for unemployment due to be not able to work would be proof enough but not so. How do I obtain a report showing my benefits from uneplyment have stopped? thanks

I found a job after being on unemployment for 3 months, but the job is 80 miles a day round trip and wont pay for three weeks. I took it just to be working.

Unemployment stops paying the minute I start working irrespective of when I am paid, right?
