Florida Unemployment Weekly Claim

In order to keep receiving an unemployment check every week you must file a weekly claim, also known as a weekly certification or continued claim.

The purpose of filing a weekly claim is to tell the unemployment agency that you:

1. Are currently looking for work.
2. Have not done any work this week.
3. Have not made any money this week (unless you are allowed to by the terms of your unemployment.)
4. Have not found another job.
5. Want to receive an unemployment check or payment this week.

Therefore, it is very important to file your weekly claim every week to keep receiving your unemployment check.

If you delay in filing your weekly claim, you may not get your unemployment check on time.

The card is "processed" the day you claim your first weeks then mailed out when they pay out the claim.(at least I was told that it was when I called to ask). I claimed my weeks on 11/13, my first week was paid and my card mailed on 11/20 and it came in the mail on 11/30. So for me 17 days from when I claimed my first week the card arrived. Hope this helps. :)

I accepted a job that pays commission only. The company loaned me money that was to be subtracted from future earnings. Wouldn't the loan not count as wages until I earned the actual wages and paid the money back? The bi weekly questions ask if i earned wages. Not whether I borrowed any money.

When I applied for unemployment on 7/20/12, the computer stated I had to do my first claim certification by 7/31. I applied to 5 jobs through employflorida.com this afternoon but I am unsure if that is all I need to do to claim? Each time I click on Claim your Week, it re-routes me to the same site over and over. I cannot find any deo site that offers a claim certification. Then I read you don't have to fill out the claim ceritifcation until you start receiving checks? Am I supposed to call to claim? I tried to call and received no ans. I am new at this. How should I claim my weeks moving forward?

I got a letter that stated I was eligible for benefits and how much I would get. I was told to claim my weeks on 9/24 which I did and after I reported my wages and listed 5 apps that i applied for I got a message to claim my next weeks on 10/8. Okay, but when I checked my benefits page it says that there was no payment made on your account. So what I wanted to know is how many times do I have to claim weeks before I receive my first payment?

After filing, how long until my first check arrives and is there a schedule of compensation days? For instance, if I filed on 11/12/12 and my next day to file again is 11/26/12, WHEN do I get paid for the weeks filed on 11/12?

I got laid-off my job in december 2011,I filed for unemployment and was approved in february 2012. I have been getting unemployement from my previous employer from february 2012....after getting it for 10 months they stop my claims on November 2nd.... my previous employer wrote the DEO in october 2012 and told them i quit my job in December 2011, and other lies she told them that can damage my reputation in getting a job. This doesnt make any sense to me,this is so stessfull.....this is just been unfair.what do you think i should do?

If I have a procedure done and will not be able to work for two days will I still get paid for the other days in that week. How should I claim that week? I don't want to mess up my benefits.
