I lost my Florida job this month June 8,2011. I have been employed there since Aug.19, 2010. Have I worked long enough to receive unemployment?
My base year is Jan 1, 2010- Dec 31,2010 which only has me working 1 quarter of the base year. I was told by my co worker I would had to worked at least 2 quarters of the base year..to receive unemployment, is this correct?
I did not work for any other company in 2010.
Thank you!
Any advice would be very helpful!

I was fired from my job last Friday for poor performance after working for them from July 18.2011. I did not lie, steal or commit gross misconduct. My question is regarding my base period in Florida and will Unemployment notify my past employers that I am filing. I need my past employers for references.
Thank you

i am having to relocate from Jacksonville, FL to Orlando, FL for numerous reasons. My work checked, and are unable to give me a transfer to a store in that area. I have been with the company since aug of 2009. Do I have grounds for this since I tried to get a transfer and they refused to transfer me?

I have been receiving unemployment in Florida since 12/5/2010. I got a letter saying that I am eligible to receive EUC Tier 2 with $3850 on October 31, 2011. I only got 1 week payout on 12/5/2011 due to waiting week and 12/12/2011 was the last week paid of $275 direct deposit. It is now 12/26/2011 and the system says I have $2475 credit left, but the system also says there are no weeks to claim. Also, I got wage transcripts saying that I am eligible to receive an additional $5067 with weekly benefit amount of $275 and the benefit year ends 12/4/2012. Why does it say there are no weeks to claim?

I have a health problem. I have been diagnosed with severe depression caused by a recent demotion at work and reassignment to another dept. The demotion cost me a loss of .90 cents an hour and a step down from a 5 to a 1. I have applied for medical help with my VA since I am a veteran, I have appts with a psychiatrist and psychologist for medication and therapy/treatment. I feel very humiliated and hurt from this move on managements part. I did not see it coming at all. I have worked at my new position for 3 days now and every time I try to do the right secular duties I mess up. I am nervous and cry often. I do not eat or sleep. My doctor stated that I needed to make a list of why I should stay or leave my employment. My question is, what do I do, this is a large corporation and all of management was in favor of this move, they all stated that I had to be moved to another department. I do not feel this way. What do I do? Quit, ask for a leave of absence until I am better? What do I do?

Our company just laid off an employee that had just become eligible for LTD benefits. Not 100% clear on when he will be able to work. Will he be eligible for unemployment benefits? The loss of job was through no fault of his own, but he technically is not able to work yet.

I have taught school in FL for almost 5 years. Now I have to go back to Ohio to help my wife care full-time for her aging parents with Alzheimers and other disabilities. Will I qualify for unemployment?

Hi, I've worked in a restaurant since Aug 2010. I was employed with the understanding I could not work on Sundays, (the only day off my husband has), no problem until a new manager took over and 2 people left now they've told me that I will have to work every other Sunday until they find someone. It appears to me that they are not really trying to find anyone as there has been no one to my knowledge interviewed, even though people have offered to work my Sunday the manager has said no. it feels as though this is being done on purpose so that I will eventually have to leave. Is there anything I can do, the lasr straw came when the scheduling manager told me that I would have to work every Sunday until take a 2 week vacation, my husband can't accompany me back to England as his job won't allow him 2 weeks...this means we won't have a day together for weeks.
