Alaska Unemployment

How do I file for unemployment benefits?

You can file an initial claim for unemployment benefits two ways, online or calling a UI Claim Center. To file online login to http://myalaska.state.ak.us and click on Unemployment Insurance Benefits.

If you call, an unemployment insurance claim center representative can take your information over the phone. After you have opened your UI claim, you can file for biweekly benefits online at the above website or over the phone by calling our automated telephone claim filing system known as VICTOR.

Do I qualify for unemployment benefits?

Generally, the three major criteria to qualify for unemployment benefits in Alaska are:

  1. Wage credits from an employer that is subject to unemployment insurance laws (covered employment).
  2. A total gross income of at least $2,500 earned over two calendar quarters of your base period.
  3. Continuing eligibility for each week claimed. This includes being able, available, and actively seeking full time work.

Our company has 3 employees working/residing in FL., but they are being paid from AK & paying the state taxes. If they were to lose their jobs & needed to file unemployment in FL would they be eligable?

hi, I was filing for unemployment and qualified for euc and then i took a part-time job late last and it ended apr of this year. I defiled my original claim and started receiving benefits on euc or a $248 weekly benefit amt. They held it to see if I qualified for a new claim based on the pt wages. I earned 2565 over 4 periods. They redetermined I should be receiving 56 per week - a significant difference. My question is there anyway to continue my original claim? I'm in tier 2 of the eu2 extended program. Thank you for your attention.

I'm contemplating a move to CA in the next few months. I will need to look for a job there, but will need some assistance by way of unemployment benefits during the interim. Should I file for unemployment benefits once I give my 2 week notice to my employer in Alaska, so that benefits can be continued/transferred to California?

Yesterday after work I was left with the option of quit or be fired and told to think about it for 24hours and left them know. As I left work late the other day and did not get the deposit made until the next morning, however nothing was wrong with deposit everything was correct it just is company policy to make the deposit on the same day.

I have never been fired nor have I ever quit without having a job, I need money what should I do?

I've been seasonally employed in and only in the state of Alaska for the last 18 months. I currently live in Arizona. A UI representative in AZ told me to file my UI claim in Alaska. Yet can't do it online because of my residency in AZ.

Suggestions?
