Tier 4 EUC08: 6 week maximum unemployment extension.

If your Tennessee unemployment benefits run out you might be eligible to receive extended unemployment benefits through one of the state or federal unemployment extension programs.

This federal unemployment extension programs is called Emergency Unemployment Compensation, 2008 (Also known as EUC08).

Emergency Unemployment Compensation, 2008 (EUC08) includes 4 stages, or tiers. Each tier has a different maximum time period for which your unemployment extension will last:

Tier 4 EUC08: 6 week maximum unemployment extension.

If you use up all of your regular unemployment benefits, in most cases you don't have to apply for an unemployment extension because the system automatically applies for you, if you are eligible. It is very important that you keep track of your benefits to make sure you receive your unemployment extension if you are eligible.

If you get close to your unemployment benefits running out, give your unemployment counselor a call to check to see what you have to do in order to get they unemployment extension.

I was wondering if I need to do anything to file an extension on my unemployment or if it happens automatically? If it does not happen automatically, does TN let me know what to do, or do I have to research the process to know what to do? How do I reach my counselor, I was not aware that I had one? Is the number on the stub? Thank you

The on line shows my benefits exhausted but I have not received anything by mail regarding that. In January I was advised I would have it until June and then it would be lowered but continuted through end of year. I went by unemployment office and she stated that perhaps tier 4 was no longer available, but she did not know any thing for sure about it. The toll free number has not been available all week due to high volume of calls. Thanks.

I have received unemployment benefits for the past 6 months. I have no idea who my counselor is or what I need to do to file for an extension. Also, if I receive an extension are the benefits lowered?

the automated system just told me that my tier 3 benefits have been exhausted. If I am granted tier 4, when does it go into effect? what do i have to do to get it? I have been looking for work (Ieven applied for oil drilling rigs overseas) but so far, I've been told I'm "overqualified" or that they're looking for "fresh perspectives" (meaning younger people) I have decided to carry my work search into the overseas market as there are more opportunities these days over there. But what do I do in the meantime?

The automated system told me that my tier3 benefits have been exhausted. I have emailed UIClaimsinfo@tn .gov to request for tier4 extension. If i am granted the tier4, when dose it go in effect? what do i have to do to get it? I have been unable to find employment. I go on different interviews and they always say,"we will let you know in a few days on our decision,"but if and when they do,the position is filled by another canidate(meanin g a younger person),but I keep looking. I need help.
