Be prepared for long wait times because lots of people are trying to do the same thing that you are. Be patient and you will get through to someone that can help you. Even though it is frustrating to wait so long, please be courteous to the person you get connected to and you will get a lot more help than if you are terse and rude. The staffers on the other line are over-worked and are doing everything they can to help all of the people that are contacting them.

how do you get your unemployment benifits started back if you went and worked a temporary job for six weeks for a different employer in a different state

i been trying get in touch wit someone to tell the the reason why i was fired but cant get any answers to the phones wat number am i suppose to call they gave me a telephone app at 1-877-331-1271 but everytime i call i get a voice mail i don know wat else to do

My UI was approved and arrived in the mail along with debit card and benefit information on 6/23/12. My last date of employment was 5/22/12. My first weekly certification was on 6/18/12, and I have completed weekly as instructed. When can I expect to get any funds deposited on my debit card?

I see I'm not the only one having problems here. I have been waiting 6 weeks for my claim to be approved after initially being told it could take up to 4 weeks.

I'm very frustrated because I cannot reach a person at the unemployment office. I call all day beginning at 8:00 am. I have actually gotten put on hold a couple of times this week, but each time I get disconnected after a while. One day I was on hold for 152 minutes and got disconnected.

I have also sent several emails to the address on the recording since it states you can get faster service that way. I have yet to receive a response.

I'm starting to think there are no real people working at the unemployment office, and they rely on computers and phone systems to do all the work. I wonder if a TV news reporter has looked into what's going on at the unemployment office.

Same here, called the number provided above.. 172 minute wait time.. really. Guys We The People need this money! I'm about to be evicted, my bed repossessed my insurance has lapsed and I've borrowed all I can Borrow. Why can't we speak with someone?

I have called up to 500 times per day (documented by my marking system) for over a month and have not yet gotten a live person. Tried a variety of other numbers that might have associations with UI but no luck. System sucks!!!

I call hundreds of times daily. same message. Too busy to take my call. I would like to be refunded all deductions taken from my pay and no longer participate in this bs program.

hello, i attempted to fill out a claim on line.. but was prompted with the wrong paperwork to fill out (a "why did you quit" question, when i did not quit) so i backed out... call the 1 877 number and after filling it out was put on a 3 hour hold. I lost connection on the way to pick up my children. How do i find out if they have the claim... i do not want to fill out another and have them confused and wait longer.

I received a debit card & a letter saying I am approved. However, I still haven't been paid. The automated number says my claim is pending (even though I've been approved). I cannot get through to talk to a representative. It doesn't put me on hold. It just says, "Do to high call volume we can't take your call." So I've just been hanging up, dialing, & repeating. I've tried going to my local career center & waiting for 2 hours for them to tell me, "We can't do anything...call the Claim Center...try calling 200 times & you'll get through". Well I've called 500 & still nothing.

I have applied on line....the number, when called, is not allowing me to do the weekly certifications ...it is saying that I have been suspended for an incorrect PIN...this has been going on for 3 weeks and I have never been able to reach anyone by phone and I know the PIN is correct becasue I changed it. Please help...single mother with no income coming in.please help. Worked for 2 yrs - made up reason for termination.....never had one write up or council before....just termed.

you HAVE to go into the office, call or file online. A tip..call a few minutes BEFORE they are scheduled to start taking calls OR call your LOCAL office to see if they can help. The toll free number takes calls for the ENTIRE United States.

I was told by a career coach to start calling about 15 minutes before they are open. The Lady I spoke to was in East Tennessee and they are an hour ahead of us. So start calling about 5:45 our time. They open at 6:00a.m. our time. I was able to get in touch with them when I did that. I only had to wait about 30 minutes.

I have been waiting for 8 weeks now and have emailed them. There is no getting thru to them by phone. Maybe everyone unemployed should get a job with them since they definitely don't seem to have enough help!

We received a letter that one of our employees is trying to collect unemployment benefits. The problem with this is that she was never terminated or let go. We would call her to work and she would refuse work for various reasons... last response we got when we asked her to work was a text saying no thanks!
Now she is trying to collect unemployment?

On the March 31st certification I answered a question wrong. It was through a temp service and I have been told that I should have marked no. The temp to hire service asked me if I had been offered a job and I said yes but I declined it because of eye surgery. I got it all straightened out and had to submit a medical form. I fax it on April 30th and was also able to once again to certify, I had been locked out. So i certified starting on April 28th and have each week since then. How long does it take before I will start receiving benefits again? Now I can't get an answer by telephone. All it says is that it is still pending. Any help in getting this resolved would be greatly appreciated. I can really use the money. Thanks for your help.

I too have had an ordeal with TN unemployment. I have had a steady work history since I was 16 (now 40) and I deserve these benefits, but yet after being laid off fr 7 weeks NOTHING! I filed on May 17th it is now June 26 and still waiting. Cant get a person on the phone nothing in the mail. The TN unemployment department is down right dirty! People need help! I am about to have to bankruptcy because of the TN unemployment department but they obviously don't care. Criminals!

I,ve appiied for unemplopment online.I called the weekly certifaction # but I gave a wrong answer the frist time So I couldnt certify that week or next.I keep trying the main number for hrs. ,but it always says we cant take your call at this time. Since I filed online can I go down to the unemployment office or call a different number? Thanks

This is crazy I have been waiting on unemployment for da pass 8 wks after being to it takes up to 6 to 8 weeks to get approved. I know I'm not the only one but a lot of us have children and bills that needs to be paid. I have called every number I find. I really can't understand why the offices in the states can't do it like before I never had this problem and its crazy. You can't talk to no one and its a hot mess...... I HATE THE NEW SYSTEM!!!!!!!!!

I was approved for benefits. But I did not realize I had to complete weekly certifications on the first Sunday or Monday after my claim was filed. After I realized my error, I called the 800 number and got a voice animation saying I had been approved but would have to reset my claim. How do I do this when I am always told to call back later.

I had to file for partial unemployment due to work being slow for the week ending of 8/17/13 and not getting my full time hours. I got the letter saying it had been processed and that i had not recieved my payment because that was my waiting week. i got that letter on 8/28/13. i also got the letter on 8/28/13 telling me how much money i qualified for. I recieved my chase debit card on 9/3/13 and i still have not recieved my money on it. This is my first time doing this so i dont know much about it. Could someone tell me maybe why its not been on there yet? Or how much longer i may have to wait? The number i called is not working right now. Any information would ve appreciated. Thanks!
