How to Reopen an Existing Tennessee Unemployment Claim

It may become necessary for you to reopen an existing Tennessee unemployment claim if you suspend or cancel your unemployment because you found a job, and then later became unemployed again.

Generally, you can reopen an existing unemployment claim by simply filing a weekly certifcation online or by phone -- just like you did every week when you receiving unemployment previously.

In some cases, it may be necessary to speak to an unemployment counselor or start the process all over again in order to reopen an existing unemployment claim in Tennessee. If this is the case, contact your unemployment counselor to get exact instructions on how to proceed.

I need to know if I can continue to get unemployment if my employer has already let me go after a moth of work? I was hired on Oct. 20th 2011 and there just isn't enough work for him to keep me. Will I still be able to get my benifits? Please help!

I filed a claim for unemployment on May 3, 2012. I did my weekly certification and the response I received was " a break in your claim". What does that mean and what do I do?

I previously received unemployment benefits in 2011 and stopped receiving after I found a job. I lost my job 2/15/2013 and am trying to update employee history and reapply but the system will not let me. After days and hours of calling, I have yet to receive an answer and feel like this should be any easy fix on line. How can I update employment history and receive claims?

I lost my job of 8 yrs, recieved unemployment for 3 wks until found another job. I worked there for 20 days and had to resign due to safety issues. Ive tried to refile online and it says I have to call to apply due to last employer not on file. When i call, every option i press, a msg says we cannot take your call at this time. Ive tried calling before they open and all hours of the day. There are no longer any local unemployment offices open near me. How do I file??
