How to Reopen an Existing Pennsylvania Unemployment Claim

It may become necessary for you to reopen an existing Pennsylvania unemployment claim if you suspend or cancel your unemployment because you found a job, and then later became unemployed again.

Generally, you can reopen an existing unemployment claim by simply filing a weekly certifcation online or by phone -- just like you did every week when you receiving unemployment previously.

In some cases, it may be necessary to speak to an unemployment counselor or start the process all over again in order to reopen an existing unemployment claim in Pennsylvania. If this is the case, contact your unemployment counselor to get exact instructions on how to proceed.

My 26 weeks just ran out.
Where and how do I apply on line for an extension?
How long does it take to get extended?

I have been trying to call 1-888-313-7284 since 7:20 A.M. this morning and the line is always busy.
I don't know where to re-open my existing claim on line ... help.

I have been having the same issue for a whole week now, and the funny thing is that the line open at 4pm when they are closed just to tell you that they are closed and their operating time is 8am to 4pm, I really don't know what to do

Same thing here I've been calling since last week and it's busy! How is it that I have been calling before office hours are open and it's busy? This is really frustrating. Why is there nobody to talk to??? I also can't find where to reopen claim online!

I made an error when filing my claims- nothing has changed. I am still working part time while looking for a better paying position. My payments stopped and I can not get in touch with anyone. It tells me I need to re-open a claim but when I go to the website to file the re-open application, it says I need to file an initial claim. I need to speak to someone. Please help!

Filing the initial claim does re-open your claim.

I am very upset that I forgot to claim my bi weekly unemployment claim and now my claim is inactive. I am pregnant and had a very bad week last week and was very busy looking for a job and not sleeping that great. I am going to call tomorrow to try and ask the counselor to manually input my claim. Do you think I will get the back pay? I am very upset...
