How to Cancel Pennsylvania Unemployment

When you find a new job you can no longer receive Pennsylvania unemployment benefits and may need to officially cancel your Pennsylvania unemployment.

In order to cancel your unemployment claim, you can:

1. Call, send a letter, or email to your unemployment counselor letting them know that you have found a new job.
2. Stop filing your weekly certification.

If you happen to receive an unemployment check while you are working, make sure to call your unemployment counselor to let them know. You may need to return the check - but this will be better than any possible penalties that you could be responsible for if you are found to be recieving unemployment benefits while working.

My husband has started a new job. He is currently on unemployment in pennsylvania. He only actually worked 1 of his weeks of his biweekly claim and the other week he did work but did not get paid because of a holding week with his new job. How do I file this kind of claim?? Do I put his hours in for the week he worked even though he did not recieve a pay? this will be his last claim. im just not sure how we do it.

Just recently returned to work. Do I report this to my local career center counselor or to the U C benefit center?

I have to have surgery and can not actively seek employment at this time. Do I just stop filing, then, after my surgery and recovery, start filing again?

I applied yesterday when I was told my hours would be cut from 50 to 20 by my supervisor. My employer overrode this decision, but I had already filed. I have no ppwk (as this was yesterday) and when I call the number given, it merely rings busy, as I hear it is impossible to get through. I do not need my employer to get documents regarding this filing. How do I stop the process?
