Pennsylvania Unemployment Requirements

In order to start your unemployment, PA unemployment requirements include the following:

1. You are totally unemployed. Depending on your vocation and industry, you may qualify for unemployment if you have had your hours reduced.
2. You have worked and earned a minimum amount of wages in work covered by unemployment tax during the past 18 months.
3. You have lost your job through no fault of your own. If you were laid-off you will qualify for unemployment. In most cases, if you were fired for cause - you will not be eligible to collect unemployment. If you were fired for cause, you SHOULD apply for unemployment anyway, just in case you are eligible to get it.
4. You are able and available for work. If you are unable to work because of disability or medical condition, you may not meet the Pennsylvania unemployment requirements, but you should apply anyway. If you are not eligible for unemployment, you may be eligible to collect disability benefits, and the case worker at the unemployment office will be able to direct you on how to apply for disability.
5. You are registered for work at your local Workforce Development Center. You must do this when you apply for unemployment, and every week when you certify your weekly claim.
6. You are actively seeking work. You must apply to a minimum of two jobs per week.

To continue receiving weekly unemployment benefits, PA unemployment requirements state that you must file a 'weekly claim' by doing the following:

1. Meet all of the PA unemployment requirements listed above.
2. Apply for at least two jobs each week.
3. Contact the Pennsylvania unemployment office to file your 'weekly claim'. You can do this via phone or on the internet.

i work at a golf course throughout the year. In the fall and winter seasons, work is not 100% available. There are opportunities here and there. Would I be able to collect a full 40 hour week, or even partial if we are not offered the time.

Can a person in Pennsylvania work (and get paid) if they collect disability??? Doesn't seem right? Also, can a person receive disability AND unemployment at the same time?

I recently got married and moved with my husband to New Jersey. I gave my notification to leave several months ago and that has since passed as they asked me to stay on longer working remote. I know this will eventually come to and end, but i am willing and able to continue working (remote). When they give me my final date to work through, would I then qualify for unemployement?

Is swearing a ligit reasonable reason to terminate some ones emplyement if it is not directed to a fellow employee or customer. Does a company have the right to threaten termination for swearing or hand gestures, I get all of the harrasment issues, but what if its ment in a joking manner with fellow employes that has nothing to do with or seen by customers that does not threaten them or the owner ship, Is there not free speach infringements? I feel like this policey infringes on my right to free speach. Is there recourse. I work for for a very conservative christian organzation I understand they do not want the language however I dont feel like they can threaten my job because they dont like what I say.

Can I file if I leave my job because I've witnessed unfair treatment of employees, harassment, discrimination, no discipline procedure put into action and an over all stressful environment that has no leadership and the staff is left to police themselves and I just can't take it anymore?

I reside in Pa & work for a PA company & receive my pay through them. I worked in Ohio since June 2011. I just got laid off. Can I collect unemployment benefits in PA? My employer says they paid my benifits to Ohio & I need to collect from Ohio. The last time I was laid off, under the same circumstances, I collected in PA. I feel they made an error & paid in to the wrong state.
