I worked for this company 10 years and they fired me on Nov 15, 2010 for no based reasons. They said that they no longer needed me on my performance. And because it was 10 years, this 2010 I supposed to get paid for 3 weeks vacation, instead of only 2 weeks like the previous 9 years. Could it be that they fired me so they don't have to pay 3 weeks of vacation??

I had a job for one month while on unemployment that was not full time.. will this cause me to lose availability to file for the unemployment extension? The job was temporary.

If I took a part time job that was completely misrepresented and cannot do the job, can I quit and file for unemployment? I have a bad back, hips and feet and I was NOT told that the job required me to walk to and from a bus stop and across campus several times a day.

I just started Grad school since I am unemployed, it is online and at night, when I filed my weekly certification last week, one of the questions asked if I was in school or training.... i checked yes. This morning when I logged on to file my weekly certification, it says I have "active issues" and can't file, does this mean now that I am in school, I am disqualified? If this is the case, seems like they don't want you to better yourself.

If I am currently receiving unemployment for the first time and it says I am eligible for benefits for 26 weeks. I want to go back to school for a program that lasts 1 year, but this school does not offer student loans. Is it possible to get unemployment for longer than the 26 weeks and get it extended for the year I am in school?

I recently got terminated from my job due to days missed. I became very ill, and tried to go back to work multiple times but lapsed back. The day I was terminated I had to take my daughter to hospital. I made sure I had gotten notes to verify what was going on. I was told it had to go up in front of the board to be judged due to it being a termination. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what my chances might be? This is the first time that I have ever applied for unemployment and I'm a little confused about the process. Thank you.

I was on unemployment but then took a job that pays total commission. After getting paid for the training, I have not made a cent. Can I collect the unemployment again until I actually start earning money?

I was receiving UI and took a job working out of town (147 miles from home) I only took the job because my husband had a job out of town so I rented an apartment inbetween his job and mine. We own a home so this was a burden because we received no per diem. My husband lost his job and got a job back home. I tried for five weeks after telling my supervisor of the changing situation to drive several days a week from my home to the job and two days a week from the apartment i rented to the job, but it got to be just about impossible to keep this up. I talked with my supervisor and told him the situation was becoming impossible but i'd try a little longer. After driving the 147 miles one morning from home and having another exhausting trip I told my supervisor that I just wanted to go home he said he understood and told me he still wanted to keep me employed with the company and would put me on part time status. Can I still get my UI that I was receiving before I took the job? I have worked with the company for four months.

I'm an employer and have an employee who will be reduced from 40 hours per week to 20 hours per week.

Is she entitled to unemployment benefits for the reduced schedule? If so - how does it work. What do I need to do to make sure she can collect benefits (and conversely, what does she need to do)?

I have been out of work for about 3 months taking care of my mom who has cancer. She was taking radiation & chemo, unable to take care of her self & was having to eat thru a feeding tube. This all made her so weak she was falling all the time. She couldn't be left alone. At first the company worked with me & understood. I went back for about 2 weeks while my sister was taking care of her, but one day she just decided to leave & wouldn't anymore putting me back in the same situation. They recently gave me a fmla form to fill out in which I plan to do. Am I eligible for unemployment since I'm unable to work the hours they operate & am unable to find a job for the hours I could b available? Also if I quit or get fired because of these circumstances would I be eligible?

Long story short, my relative was wrongfully discharged. She stated on her form it was "lack of work". She received unemployment benefits from Oct to present (April). Last month, she was notified Employer appealed, stating poor job performance. During first phone hearing, employer had NO documentation to hold up his claim. After getting my relative's side, Adjudicator said decision would be mailed, but either side could appeal decision again. How many times can an unemployment case be appealed?
