New Jersey Unemployment Extension - Extended Benefits (EB)

There is another type of unemployment extension called Federal-State Extended Duration (FED-ED), more commonly referred to as Extended Benefits (EB). You will only qualify for the EB Extended Benefits unemployment extension if you have used up all of your regular unemployment benefits and also used up all of your EUC08 unemployment extension.

If you qualify for the EB Extended Benefits unemployment extension you will receive additional benefits equal to 20 weeks or 80% of the maximum benefit amount on the original unemployment claim, whichever amount is less.

I exhausted Tier IV benefits about two weeks ago and have been waiting to get the Tan EB letter of determination. Should i continue to wait until this paper comes in? Everytime i call unemployment it goes straight to saying, "we cannot take your call but you have been credited for this week"? Any help would be appreciated... =[

I AM COLLECTING ON A 2010 CLAIM BUT ONLY HAVE 16 WEEKS THEREFORE NOT ELIGABLE FOR THE EXTENDED , HOW EVER I WAS ON THE EUC TIER 4 FROM A 2008 CLIAM WHEN I HAD TO OPEN A NEW CLAIM IN DEC 2010. THIS CLAIM WILL RUN OUT IN APRIL BECAUSE IT IS NOT A FULL CLAIM WITH ONLY 16 WEEKS. WILL I BE ELIGABLE TO GO BACK TO THE 2008 CLAIM AND COLLLECT THE EB SINCE MY TIER 4 RAN OUT. THAT CLAIM HAD 20 WEEKS.

I am on unemployment and have about 90.00 left to claim. Should I contact unemployemnt ot se what I do next or it is an automatic transaction. While I was collecting, I landed a temporary position for about 2 months and made an additional $5800.00. I was demobilized at the end of December. I returned back on unemployment. What do you advise as my next step and does the extra money I earned have any bearing on the extended benefits. Thank you as I am new to all this.

I was on UI back in 2009 for 10 months. But went back to work for a year and a half. Had to open a claim in Aug of 2011 worked on and off throughout the year and by June used up all 26 weeks. Have not heard anything for 2 weeks, and when I went on the claim inquiry to see what was going on it said my benifits were 0....Why woudn't I qualify for an extension, I worked a year and a half between clams. Any information would help Thankyou.
