I have been unemployed since March 14, 2010. I believe I can receive a maximum of 99 weeks of benefits. I just found out that I may have a opportunity to go back and work for my previous employer on an hourly bases (instead of an annual salary) for 4-5 weeks. My questions is: Can I suspend my unemployment and reactivate it when my project is over, if this hourly job ends?

I have been on unemployment benefits since March 2010. I am considering starting my own company. How does that work? Will I lose my benefits as soon as I register my company or as soon as I begin to make money from it?

Hello. I was just reading your post and the same thing happened to me. I'm not sure if this is your initial filing but give them a call because more than likely a substantial amt of time will pass before you hear from them. This msg could mean that there are some things that they may have to verify before they process your claim. In my case they had denied my benefits but it was only when I called them that I found this out. The key to calling and actually getting through is to call back to back when you get the msg of the volume of calls. I hope that this help you and you don't have to face what I'm facing. Be blessed.

My hours have been cut, but I am still employed. Can I file for partial unemployment to get something for the hours that I've lost?

I collect a pension from the state of NJ (PERS) I worked after that for the Federal Government and got laid off. I am being told that since I contributed less than 100% to my NJ pension the unemployment I received is reduced by 50% of the amount of pension I receive. Can NJ reduce your unemployment if it is based on wages from a federal government agency job just because youare receiving a NJ pension?

Hi, I was supposed to file a claim for my benefits when I get laid off but when I called they said I claimed my weekly benefits December 25, 2011. I never called and I wasnt supposed to claim weekly benefits because I started working. Now what should I do, should I call or go in person because I never called myself? Seems to be liked someone called claiming to be me.

If you re-open a past claim, how do you get the benefits? I was told over the phone that NJ Unemployment no longer issues paper checks. Would they just direct deposit money into your account or do they send you some sort of money card? Also, how do you pay bills with a money card?

I was collecting unemployment for 8 weeks. Found a job, during the interview discussed pay. Received email of what rate of pay will be. Was paid $1 less per hour in error, was told it would be corrected-never has been, won't discuss. Also employer has me working 48-50 hours per week and does not allow me to leave for lunch, I have to eat while I am working at my desk. Was told last week "be happy you are working". If I quite, can I reopen my claim and will it be approved?

I've been collecting benefits without a issue,I wanted to ask if it was possible to collect weekly instead of bi-weekly.it would be much easier for me to manage my bills and responsibilitie s every week instead of twice a month.if I can do this,I would like to know how to do it properly,so I don't have any confusion,or cause grief for anyone working at the unemployment center..I apprecieate any guidance I can get...thank you.

Did anyone get a confirmation e-mail after filling out the claim online? At the end I went right into a re-employment orientation video. Was I done? Did my claim submit? I have no way of knowing and when I log in it says I never filed a claim and I'm afraid I'll screw myself up if I submit again.
