How to Cancel Nevada Unemployment

When you find a new job you can no longer receive Nevada unemployment benefits and may need to officially cancel your Nevada unemployment.

In order to cancel your unemployment claim, you can:

1. Call, send a letter, or email to your unemployment counselor letting them know that you have found a new job.
2. Stop filing your weekly certification.

If you happen to receive an unemployment check while you are working, make sure to call your unemployment counselor to let them know. You may need to return the check - but this will be better than any possible penalties that you could be responsible for if you are found to be recieving unemployment benefits while working.

Hello, I have a problem with claiming benefits.
I filed a claim in Nevada April 2012. I received a denied letter.
I went to work May 2012 in another state. I filed in that state at the end of the job (Aug 4) I filed for benefits in the other state. It's pending because there is an open claim in Nevada. I assumed denial of benefits was the same as not having a claim. I now know that denial is not the same as withdrawal of a claim. I do not want to re-opne my claim in Nevada. I requested a withdrawal in Nevada, they denied it saying I had 11 days only. My question is, can I request a special hearing for reconsideration of withdrawal?
