Nevada Unemployment Requirements

In order to start your unemployment, NV unemployment requirements include the following:

1. You are totally unemployed. Depending on your vocation and industry, you may qualify for unemployment if you have had your hours reduced.
2. You have worked and earned a minimum amount of wages in work covered by unemployment tax during the past 18 months.
3. You have lost your job through no fault of your own. If you were laid-off you will qualify for unemployment. In most cases, if you were fired for cause - you will not be eligible to collect unemployment. If you were fired for cause, you SHOULD apply for unemployment anyway, just in case you are eligible to get it.
4. You are able and available for work. If you are unable to work because of disability or medical condition, you may not meet the Nevada unemployment requirements, but you should apply anyway. If you are not eligible for unemployment, you may be eligible to collect disability benefits, and the case worker at the unemployment office will be able to direct you on how to apply for disability.
5. You are registered for work at your local Workforce Development Center. You must do this when you apply for unemployment, and every week when you certify your weekly claim.
6. You are actively seeking work. You must apply to a minimum of two jobs per week.

To continue receiving weekly unemployment benefits, NV unemployment requirements state that you must file a 'weekly claim' by doing the following:

1. Meet all of the NV unemployment requirements listed above.
2. Apply for at least two jobs each week.
3. Contact the Nevada unemployment office to file your 'weekly claim'. You can do this via phone or on the internet.

My boyfriend was on unemployment and got a job, 4 days later they fired him. Would he be eligible to revive unemployment if he was fired at no fault of his own?

I was not fired from my job, however my job was at a restaurant at a local hotel/casino, I am no longer permitted on the casino property so therefore I can no longer go to my job... my employer has fought for me to keep my job but hotel security is non cooperative. Am I able to collect my unemployment as I can no longer go to my place of employment????

What do I do if I don't get paid on payday cause the company doesn't have the money. How long can they hold my check while I'm still working for them

.after a yr I got fired on my day off over the phone..:-) i filed for unemployment ..i received a letter i was to have a phone interview...during this time my employer notified me they had extended my health insure for a month and have signed the papers to pay my unemployment..ok ...have my phone interview all went well .. waited x amount of days it was approved 2 wks later i get my money.. i go to file and STATUS UPDATE is IS cant find IS anyplace thinking its issue?? if they paid me and issue was resolved new same whats going on? confused :-( Thank You all the info here is very helpful when in a stressful situation!!!
