Nevada Unemployment Eligibility

In order to establish unemployment eligibility in Nevada you have to:

1. Be a resident of Nevada. If you are not a resident of Nevada, but worked in Nevada at your last job, you should still have Nevada unemployment eligibility.
2. Have worked and earned income in Nevada.
3. You must not be disabled.
4. You must be able to work.
5. You must be actively looking for a new job.
6. You must have lost your job through no fault of your own. If you quit your job or were fired for 'just cause' you may not be eligible to collect unemployment in Nevada. Every case is different, so if you lost your job -- be sure to apply to unemployment in case you are indeed eligible to receive unemployment benefits.

There are special rules that apply to unemployment elibility for military personnel and union workers, so check with your mility or union representative for these rules.

That is a harassement issue. If you have the opportunity go to your HR representative and report the issue. If you informed them you were in school and your school schedule is relatively the same as it was when you were hired they can't mess with the schedule because they were notified.

I have been working for this company for 7 months. The company recently created a new handbook. I got the hankbook and was told to sign immediately. I asked if I could read it before I signed it because the sheet clearly stated that by me signing I agree to abide by all policies. I had an issue with signing something where I don't know what I'm agreeing to. They suspened me, demoted me. And wrote me up for insubordination and backlash which are false accusations. How should I handle this. I now feel discriminated against for mii age and race.

The business I work for has no establishment in NY. My husband was on unemployment for 2 years and finally got a decent job in NY. This is causing a problem for the family and finances. If I give a months notice what are my chances of collecting unemployment.

I have become ill and will need 4 more weeks of treatment (a total of 15 weeks and am not eligible for FMLA). My employer will be releasing me because he needs to fill the job, and I will not be able to perform the duties, which may make me eligible for unemployment when I am well. However, if I resign, I am eligible for rehire, but will not be eligible for unemployment when I am well and searching for a job. Finally, If I am terminated, I will not be eligible for rehire in a highly specialized field for which I am trained. I am in some kind of double bind.

I have been at this job for over a year.
Due to my life long illness (which brings up flair-ups and Dailey constant pains, as well as fatigue, migraines, etc, I am working as long as my disease allows me.
I am currently under intermittent FMLA, but the pay I have been getting is a small fraction of what my paycheck would be, had I worked my full 40 hr/wk. since my illness won't allow me to work full hours my paycheck is very small.
Would I be able to collect unemployment if I quit because my long life disease won't allow me to work the full 80 hrs/ paycheck?
To me it is a struggle to come in and work in a fast pace enviroment, whil e my symptoms are very bothersome and distract me from doing my high demant job.

I was incarcerated for 28 months after working for a company for nearly 21 years. My incarceration was the reason for my separation from the company. Since my recent release, I have relocated to a different state and am seeking employment. Do I qualify for unemployment in Nevada?

Hi, I was working for a company for 6 months and was being harassed by my manager the few weeks before I was fired. He fired me for "insubordination ". However, my mother put in a complaint about him and the next day he followed me around asking why my mother (by name) was complaining. Her name was NOT stated anywhere in the complaint. He searched my mother on Facebook. He then proceeded to send me home. For no reason. The next day at work, he followed me around and caught me cussing on the sales floor. He fired me. I then called my union and complained, they said there is nothing they can do, and they will not look into the harassment. I need to know if I can file for unemployment because he has got it out for me and will not give me a good reference for any job I apply to. Help please!

I have been self-employed as a marketing consultant for the past 4 years; I stopped working June 2011 when my existing contract ended (amicably) and was in GA/FL for 3 months helping a terminally ill friend. Returning to NV in September 2011 I experienced health issues that required 3 surgeries by December. I have been searching for a job for the past three months and am unable to get any bites. Do I qualify for unemployment? I had not considered this until now.

Thanks for your help.

I am in a situation where my work facility that i am working at now is closing. The main company may offer me another position at a different location. My issue is that I don't have a car (and I don't drive) so I rely on public transportation. Unfortunately there is no bus line to the new location. My question is, if I were to refuse this new position at the different location, would I still be entitled to unempoyment benefits? Thank you for your help.

I have been working for a small company for 5 years...it is an abusive situation...I have been able to endure due to my families needs. I need to know, if she changes my position and pay...do I have to take the new position? I would rather refuse it and collect unemployment. Would I still be eligible for unemployment if I refuse the demotion and pay cut? What are the rules here.

After I finished driving school I was placed with a national trucking co. I was assigned a mentor who 3 months later convinced me to go partners with him. After driving with him an d gaining experience for 1 year, I let him know that in 2months I wanted to work local in Las Vegas to be close to my 12yr old. I`m single dad,my disabled mom couldn` take care of my daughter anymore. He didn't want me to stop working for himbut I could not drive cross country anymore after the 2 month notice. So he dumped me in Phoenix with only half my pay and let me go that very same day. He wouldn't reason with me, wouldn't accept my 2 month notice. It`s been 2 months since I found my way back home. I have been looking for local driving jobs since I do have a CDL licence, then I have applied at restaurants and hotels for anykind of work.My rent is coming up, have barely any food left. My question is : do I qualify for unemployment benefits
