I am not currently collecting unemployment but my job is being outsource in January 2012. I am collecting a pension currently and it was stated that it may effect my unemployment benefits. Also I have heard due to the recent debt crisis that Michigan unemployment has been decreased from 26 weeks to 20 weeks. Is this true?

We have been a seasonal employer paying into unemployment since we purchased our business in 1999. At most, 2 of our employees have used the unemployment benefits each year. We do have a negative balance and our rate is getting higher each year. Can we file for seasonal employer and quit paying unemployment?? If so, how do we repay negative balance or do we have to??

6 weeks at new job. I was told I'm the 8th manager in a years time for my position I hold. I turned down other jobs and interviews because I finally got hired. I now know why I'm #8. :( the business is too much for a 50hr work week plus I received little training. In fact after working 5 days the owner went to Vegas leaving me to run the store, employees, banking, scheduling.... Basically with no training but my own experience. I went to the doctor last week due to anxiety and stress. Lack of sleep and exhaustion. Very overwhelmed. I have worked so many hours I practically work for free. My days off are spend sleeping and worrying about work stuff. Mentally and emotionally I don't think I will ever be able to do the job in a 50hr work week and do it well. Would I be able to collect unemployment benefits if I quit? Please advise. -robin
