Can you please tell me what to do, i have been collecting on my previous job, after 6 months I trained as a server for 9 hours, and the end, there was a test, to see if you are hired, before leaving, the proceed to tell us that we have to carry 6 dinners on a tray. I am not able to carry that, I am 5 2, and 110 lbs. So I never went back. About 3 months later I get a 60 dollar check for training, meanwhile I am collecting unemployement, because I did not work there. After 8 months I get a letter saying that I may be disqualified for unemployment because I quit the job. how can you quit if you were never hired? Please let me know what I can do, maybe I shouldn't train anymore.

I took a Medical Leave on Oct.13,2010 to have surgery for carpal tunnel. At the time of the leave I was a full time employee with benefits. Two weeks into the leave I was notified that my hours were cut and I was now part time with no benefits. I applied for Under employment benefits and now they say I may not qualify. Please help me to understand this. Thank you

I have been working abroad for 15 years. I moved back to Michigan and worked for the last 14 months. This week I lost my job. I am trying to understand why I cannot file for a claim. At this rate my savings it could be very possible that my savings will run out until finding new employment. I have no debt, l never been employed in 20 years of work history. After so many years gone i am lost as to what to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

I still have not received benefits. I filed on June 3, 2011 and went to Michigan Works (later than I was supposed to by several weeks). Have been calling MARVIN every two weeks as instructed. I think my employer might not have reported me being laid off when they should have. I was laid of due to lack of work but gven 30 days to find another full-time position. There were none. I was contacted two weeks AFTER that period and asked if 'I' wanted them to close me out of the system!!! I still don't know if I have been.

I recently was told by my employer, that my job was being eliminated, and I could work in another department. However, the times I would have to work would not be the same as the times I have been working, and are not hours I can work. Would I still be able to collect unemployment benefits?

My employer called me while I was in the hospital demanding a doctors note be sent to him before returning to work. A reduction in hrs was recommend. My employer called and said it would be best if I stayed home after being released to return to work. I filed for unemployment and my employer lied and said I unavailable to work due to a medical condition and said I was untruthful about the reason for separation, I chose laid off. I was called the third week off when the office was closed for the week for thanksgiving to return to work. I provided my employer with another note from primary care Dr and told him I had to have a physical by March 1 and would be re-evaluated at that time its been three weeks and he's already asking for another Drs note. When is this considered a hostile work environment??? How many times does my employer expect me to go to the Drs.

If I am currently collecting unemployment and about to start school , how does this affect my recieving weekly benefits?

I have recently received benefits for unemployment and tried to take a new position in sales. I have not made anywhere near what I was making in wages, and have spent more money than really what I have coming. The position is completely commissioned based. Is my claim completely null and void now? Is there a grace period to try a job or supplemental income that unemployment offers?
