Massachusetts Unemployment Extension - Extended Benefits (EB)

There is another type of unemployment extension called Federal-State Extended Duration (FED-ED), more commonly referred to as Extended Benefits (EB). You will only qualify for the EB Extended Benefits unemployment extension if you have used up all of your regular unemployment benefits and also used up all of your EUC08 unemployment extension.

If you qualify for the EB Extended Benefits unemployment extension you will receive additional benefits equal to 20 weeks or 80% of the maximum benefit amount on the original unemployment claim, whichever amount is less.

I will exhaust my tier 3 unemployment benefits on 12/25/2010. Congress just passed the tax cut bill on 12/16/2010 which will also extend unemployment benefits but will I be eligilbe for any benefits(tier 4 or EB) in Massachusetts. I believe Massachusetts seasonally adjusted unemployment rate has averaged under 8.5 for 3 consecutive months(Sept, OCT, Nov). I believe the 3 month seasonally adjusted rate average is about 8.2 in Massachusetts. Does this disqualify me from any further benefits?

I had just received Tier 111 on my unemployment benefits and it says i have 11 weeks to be able to collect. I tried to file for my weekly claim today on webcert and it says that my benefit year has ended and it had zeroed out my remaining balance. How do I go about being able to collect the rest of my tier 3 benefits.

My first benefit year, initial 26 week claim from Massachusetts, will end on Aug 4th. I will have a little more than one week left as a balance. Will I be able to get an extension? or will i lose out? How do i determine if i earned too much with part time work over the last year?
