Maryland Unemployment Office

Sometimes it is difficult to get through to the MD unemployment phone number, or you have questions that the website just can't answer, so you have to go to talk to someone face to face at the MD unemployment office.

There is probably a MD unemployment office in your town or county. Most states have one in every county. Be prepared though. Many people are applying for unemployment at the same time, and your local Maryland unemployment office could be very crowded, and you might have to wait in long lines in order to see someone.

Here are some tips when going to the MD unemployment office:

1. Go early. Be there at least 1 hour before the office opens.
2. Dress appropriately. It will be very hot in the summer, and very cold in the winter. Dress appropriately for the temperature and time of year.
3. Pack a lunch. You will probably have to wait a long time in line, and will probably get hungry. Pack a lunch and bring lots of water to drink to stay hydrated.
4. Bring your medicine. If you take medications that you can't miss - make sure you bring all of the medicine that you will have to take for that day, just in case you are there all day long.
5. Bring a pen or pencil. You will need one to fill out the application and to take notes.

I am currently employed as a contract Registered Nurse with the goverment. Our contract is due to end in a week and we, as of right now, do not have a contract with another company. As of Sept. 25, I will be unemployed, IF another contract company does not come in or offer us, the Registered Nurses what we deserve to be paid. (Other nurses in the hospital are getting major pay cuts with new contract companies).
My question is, can I receive unemployment through the state of MARYLAND when a contract job ends, basically getting laid off. Also how much do we get paid on unemployment? Does it matter what our pay was when we were working for the contract company? Also what steps do I take next...
I appreciate any information you can give me.

This is the worst system ever someone was supposed to call me 2 weeks ago and never did and I have been calling every day holding for hours and never have spoken to anyone. I decided to go to the office (which isn't at the address they list on the Internet) and they informed me that everything is automated and there is no one I could talk to. If anyone has tips on how to speak with someone I would greatly appreciate it.

Does ANYONE have a way to get through? It's for EUC which can only be done by phone.I have gotten through before a couple times. I now have to call back again because once again the information I was given was not completely correct. I was thinking to go to one of the offices, but I see someone already tried with no success. On place on their website does say you can go in person, but another says you cannot. ANY suggestions...anything would help.

I need to reach a rep to file for EUC but have not been successful. After the prompts I get a message 'all reps are busy please call back later" and the phone hangs up. I understand there are thousands of people like me and they too are all calling, but how do you get through? Is there a way to file EUC online, go directly to the unemployment office, certain times that are best time to call, email,etc...
Can someone please assist?

I have been trying to reach the office for days and keep getting the message all reps are busy please call back later. This is ridiculous. My unemployment was $60 short and I have not received any explanation and can't reach anyone to get answers. Please help.
