Indiana Unemployment Office

Sometimes it is difficult to get through to the IN unemployment phone number, or you have questions that the website just can't answer, so you have to go to talk to someone face to face at the IN unemployment office.

There is probably a IN unemployment office in your town or county. Most states have one in every county. Be prepared though. Many people are applying for unemployment at the same time, and your local Indiana unemployment office could be very crowded, and you might have to wait in long lines in order to see someone.

Here are some tips when going to the IN unemployment office:

1. Go early. Be there at least 1 hour before the office opens.
2. Dress appropriately. It will be very hot in the summer, and very cold in the winter. Dress appropriately for the temperature and time of year.
3. Pack a lunch. You will probably have to wait a long time in line, and will probably get hungry. Pack a lunch and bring lots of water to drink to stay hydrated.
4. Bring your medicine. If you take medications that you can't miss - make sure you bring all of the medicine that you will have to take for that day, just in case you are there all day long.
5. Bring a pen or pencil. You will need one to fill out the application and to take notes.

Hi,
This is my first time sence I started working that I have needed unemployment, and it has been a little overwhelming.
I filed the day after I lost my job, 6-22-12. I've done everything they say to do. And the status of my claim says "open" but $0.00 paid. I'm confused and worried. Does this mean I will get my benefits?
I received the letter telling me how much I would be eligible for, but I have not received anything else.
Can anyone tell me is this a normal wait period. I can not find a phone number that will actually get me in touch with a real person. :-(
Geri.

I have worked at a company in Indiana for 11 years and my fmla claim is going to be denied which will result in my termination. I have thought about moving to another state. Would I still be able to get unemployment from Indiana?

My accident happened outside of work and the dr wrote for me to be off x 1 wk. then return with restrictions. My employer refuses to let me come back to work until completely released. Can I draw unemployment? They just gave me the official no yesterday and I've been off work x2 wks. already.
