Illinois Unemployment Weekly Certification

In order to keep receiving an unemployment check every week you must file a weekly certification, also known as a weekly claim or continued claim.

The purpose of filing a weekly certification is to tell the unemployment agency that you:

1. Are currently looking for a job.
2. Did not do any work this week.
3. Did not make any money this week (unless you are allowed to by the terms of your unemployment.)
4. Did not find another job.
5. Still want to receive an unemployment check or payment this week.

Therefore, it is very important to file your weekly certification every week to keep receiving your unemployment check.

If you delay in filing your weekly certification, you may not get your unemployment check on time.

My 20 weeks of EB end today. Will the state of Illinois notify me to stop certifying? Or should I continue to certify in case the 99 weeks are extended in the future?

So I have to certify every 2 weeks on a specific day, what if I miss a week of certifying? Will that pay be lost or will I receive it at a later date?

So I filed for unemployment on Friday the day after I lost my job. I was accepted on Monday. So I began the process of filing, certifying. And it's been three weeks. I recieved the debt card where the money woul be put on. But The Account is empty. I've certified twice and still have yet to get any money at all? What is going on?

I currently claim my spouse on unemployment as a dependant. She is returning to work on Monday. How do I remove her as a dependant without holdong up my unemployment check? On my first call in certification some confussion came up on my dependant status and it delayed my receiving my first check three weeks past when it was due. I don't want that to happen again. I try calling but never get thru to anyone.

I had an emergency on a Monday that was my recertify day and I missed the 7:30 call in time. Now everything says I have to wait until Thursday. When will I get paid then? I desperately need this money this week.
