Hawaii Unemployment Eligibility

In order to establish unemployment eligibility in Hawaii you have to:

1. Be a resident of Hawaii. If you are not a resident of Hawaii, but worked in Hawaii at your last job, you should still have Hawaii unemployment eligibility.
2. Have worked and earned income in Hawaii.
3. You must not be disabled.
4. You must be able to work.
5. You must be actively looking for a new job.
6. You must have lost your job through no fault of your own. If you quit your job or were fired for 'just cause' you may not be eligible to collect unemployment in Hawaii. Every case is different, so if you lost your job -- be sure to apply to unemployment in case you are indeed eligible to receive unemployment benefits.

There are special rules that apply to unemployment elibility for military personnel and union workers, so check with your mility or union representative for these rules.

If I quit my job because I don't have a babysitter. Am I eligible to apply for unemployment? I asked my boss if they can give me at least part time job but they wouldn't. And I did not have chance to look for another job before I quit because the need to stay home with my baby is an ASAP.

My employer was bought and the buyer consolidated functions so that my job assignments and function have changed drastically. Do i qualify for unemployment if I quit today knowing that my position will eventually move to the headquarters office in another island?

Worked as a security guard for a rent-a-car company. A "company" work vehicle left the premises and I was let go for that. My duties was to make sure that I check each "rental" vehicle that left the property was the driver and contract holder. Apparently, the "company" truck that left, was actually stolen. Personal vehicles we would just wave at them, being it was NOT a rental vehicle.

Hi
I have a question. I am currently employed PT - making $7.50/hr. There are a lot of staff members doing shifts so I do not work every day. My hours when I do work are 4-6 hours. My monthly income is approximately around $400/month.
I receive a monthly allowance from my parents of $1000 and live in their house. My sister and I do own a car and we pay for the car insurance ourselves. My sister and I share the utility bills. My parents only help pay for the electricity.

I left my last job that had medical benefits to go home for 3 months - because I was always getting sick with sinus infections, colds and needed to get healthier.

My parents are paying for my COBRA insurance because I can't afford to. Its $554/month.

Would I qualify for benefits? Probably not?

I'm currently a military contractor and retired from active duty. If I'm layed off due to sequestration. Does my retired pension in any way dictate my unemployment benefit amount?

I was notified today that my teacher position was dissolved. I was told that I can apply for another teaching position but with a lower pay rate. Would I be able to qualify for partial unemployment if I get hired as a teacher ( because of the pay rate differential)
