Last time I had this problem I called the Governors office and they resolved the problem.
Assuming I become unemployed prior to that trip, I would not want to do anything that would jeopardize my unemployment benefits. Would it be best to apply for unemployment after I return from the trip?

I understand how madening it is. I know this phone number is horrible but when you get the reply that says that says to call back, just hang up the phone and dial them back directly, it may take 15 times but eventually you will get thru to a message that says your current wait time is 17 minutes or more. I keep my speaker phone on and do housework in the same room until I hear them answer. I know that sounds ridiculous but if your'e desperate for an answer I have called them and spoke to them 4 times a week this year, they say all payments are botched up right now with some computer problem they hope to have resolved by this weekend. something to do with rescreening as the new year is just starting. good luck.
