HI, i live mainly in calif. we bought a summer home in NV... I currently have a Job working over the phone so we can travel between the 2 homes and i can still work.. Ive been having a phone issuse in NV and get disconected while working and because of it, my supervisor has told me i wont be able to work from the NV home anymore, and if i wait too long to come back to work (because that evening she kicked me off the phone) id be fired. so the next next day i drove the 5 hours back to calif. to work, only to find when i tried to clock in i was blocked from doing so.. after several attempts by phone to get ahold of my supervisor i was successful and she asked if i was in NV?.. i said no i drove back to the calif home and she said thats all i wanted to know and allowed me to clock in and work... i plan on being here ( calif) for a few weeks... but, here in Calif i have another problem, when it rains the phone line gets interupted and shuts down and takes verizon approx. 3 weeks to come and fix it again. this is an on going issue... and another reason we had to get a second place so i could work.. in a few weeks hopefully it wont rain i planned on going to the NV house to check on it,( it has a built in pool... ) but this also means i wont be able to work and will be fired... so my question is? .. Will i be able to get UI based on this situation??

The district manager of my company told me "find another job" and threatened to have me fired because I "have caused nothing but problems in the office." He did not cite the problems. I know that I did absolutely nothing wrong nor did I do anything willfully to harm the employer.

He stated that I should prepare a resignation by next week to have a good reference.

I feel threatened and unsafe because of his verbal threat when I know I have done nothing wrong but to discuss a concern I want resolution for.

I am currently on probation as I have started working since January 24, 2011.

Please help me. I am so worried about my rights are and whether I may be eligible for unemployment benefits.

Thank you!!

Sorry Shelly - it does indeed sound like you are causing problems in the office. Perhaps you should write the letter so that you can get a good recommendation. It seems the only way you will get one.

I pulled a muscle in my back towards the end of my shift. I didn't realize the extent of the injury until I had already left. The next day I reported the injury to my supervisor at the begining of my shift. I was out on a worker's comp claim for 7 weeks. The day the doctor released me to work they fired me. I had signed a paper sayijng that I would report all injury right away. Ya I got that but I didn't trip and fall and break an arm. I pulled a muscle and didn't realize I had a injury until I left. Will I be able to collect unemployment?

I filed for CA UI on Saturday, the effective date is the preceding Sunday. For the first 3 days of the waiting week I was still receiving my last TD payments. On Thursday I was medically released, and worked on Friday. I have enough earnings in the BP, it's not the question. The question is: My claim is effective at the time when I was still disabled, however it is filed when I was able to work. May my claim for UI be denied?

I was laid off 11/1/2010, I applied for my 1st claim in 12/2010, received benefits until 5/2011 due to an accident in which i broke my neck, had surgery and was transitioned to SDI until 2/04/2012. i have no other income from working and my claim is being denied due to me not working and earning at $1300. I don't understand because I was unable too work. I mailed in proof of my disability insurance payments and my claim was still denied? I've been calling for two days with no luck

Hello! I was told I need to call the unemployment office but it is absolutely impossible to get through. They keep you on the line 15 minutes as for for you social and tell you to click numbers and then at the end of all that say they are too busy and hang up. I really need someone to call me. Is there anyway to get a person on the line? It seems the office is very understaffed and that sucks, but I don't know what to do when it says to call on the online forms and then you can't get through. Thank you.

Hi,
I was laid off as a teacher this march. I have filed for unemployment and started getting unemployment this July. I have already told my apartment that I need to move out as I can afford my current lease. I am actually excited as I would like to start my own business. Just today, however, I found out that my lay off has been recinded. My question is can I still collect unemployment even if I got my old job back? Emotionally and physically this job is not healthy for me and I do not wish to return. Please help!! Thanks =)

I have worked for the company for 10 years. With the recession we lost our vacations, took a cut in pay, reduced hours and lost medical insurance. Now they want to let us all go and have us work as contract labor. My question is if, in 4 months the company folds up, will I as contract labor be able to collect unemployment then???

My mom just recently separated from her husband of more then 12 years. She lived in Madera CA with him but he kicked her out. She had to move to San Jose, CA (about 2 hr commute) to live with my sister. She has a job in Madera but there is no way she can go back and forth everyday. She's 52 years old and just had surgery done to her foot. If she can't make it to work and she gets fired or if she quits because its to far for her, can she qualify for unemployment?

You wrote us the following:
I was advised by an agent on the phone that when I make money/work part time(over $101 a week) and report the earnings, that the EDD will be subtracting the first 25% which goes to me. The left over 75% gets deducted out of my EDD benefits. I was also told that since I make the most at $450 a week that the EDD would be using the amount of $600 to calculate this and not the $450...is this right? So if i made $200 for a week..the EDD would subtract the first 25% ($50)give that to me and take the balance and subtract from $600 ($150) to give me benefits of $450 plus the %25 ($50) which would be $500 for this week? Is this right? I called the EDD number all day on Tuesday and NEVER got through...that was 6 hours straight

I can't get through to the office. I have been calling every single day, several times a day, and each time the machine says they can't take my call due to the number of callers waiting in line. My claim is in California and I have continuously called both numbers 866-333-4646 and 800-300-5616. I need to get a hold of a live person and nothing is working. It's very frustrating when you receive a letter from them stating that you call them, and that phone number doesn't work.
