California Unemployment Weekly Claim

In order to keep receiving an unemployment check every week you must file a weekly claim, also known as a weekly certification or continued claim.

The purpose of filing a weekly claim is to tell the unemployment agency that you:

1. Are currently looking for work.
2. Have not done any work this week.
3. Have not made any money this week (unless you are allowed to by the terms of your unemployment.)
4. Have not found another job.
5. Want to receive an unemployment check or payment this week.

Therefore, it is very important to file your weekly claim every week to keep receiving your unemployment check.

If you delay in filing your weekly claim, you may not get your unemployment check on time.

Click Here: Weekly Reminder Email to get a reminder email sent to you every week so that you don't forget to file you weekly claim. This is a free service of UnemploymentHandbook.com because we want to make sure you file your weekly claim on time, and get your unemployment payment on time.

My son is receving unemployment benefits from California. His step father is in a nursing home as of May 2010. I am scheduled for minor surgery this month. We are wondering if there is any way he would be able to come to Connecticut to help out for a few weeks without breaking any rules of California unemployment. We would be able to provide medical documentation. Thank you for any information regarding this matter.

I received two checks for unemployment. I have continued to send in claims reports for the past 6-8 weeks. I have not received other payments. When I phone the 800-300-5616 I continually get "We're receiving more calls than we can handle."

When I call for the status of payments...provide my SS # and PIN # They tell me my information does not match. How in the hell does anyone ever get to speak to a human being to get any answers ? Thanks for any suggestions. TM

I have been unemployed for about two months and during that time I was actively looking for employment. After two months of posting my resumes, applying for work, and going on interviews after interviews, I was hired for a position which I thought was like my old position. I was excited about finally getting hired and accepted without carefully researching the company. I have been working there for about 2 weeks now and finding out more and more about the company and what's the company truly about. I truly believe what this company is wrong and feel very conflicted...morally and ethically wrong. I don't feel comfortable working there and supporting what this company is doing. I want to leave the job but I am afraid I won't be able to continue to receive my unemployment since I would be quitting but morally I cannot do what my job wants me to do. Please help, I feel so lost! I truly wished I knew what this company was about and what their intentions were before I accepted the position and started working there.

I have just got a job with a 1099 employer, they are a contracted business who is a customer survey group for Western Exterminator and other such companies. They pay me once a month and dont take my taxes out, because they are 1099. I am very new to all this but that is what my coworker says. So I am still on unemployment and my coworker said they got in trouble by our boss for putting down the company name and how many hours he worked. I am not sure how to fill out my unemployment weekly claim form. Someone please help me.

I reopened a UI claim. The representative told me that it would run out after a month but that I still had additional benefits. I recently recieved a blank continued claim form that said that I did have additional benefits but there was no way to certify for them on the blank form, What do I do now? Wait?
